In The Music Room, we will encourage your child to:

Sing

• Discover their own singing voice
• Sing in tune using the instrument all children are born with
• Sing using traditional and contemporary chants and songs
• Sing to extend their vocal range

Move

• Move to the steady beat
• Discover rhythmic movement
• Move freely with creative expression
• Move to experience the musical elements

Play

• Play using body percussion
• Play a variety of tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments
• Play using Orff techniques such as ostinato (repetitive rhythmic pattern), canon (round), echos and accompaniments

As your child sings, moves and plays, we encourage them to listen actively and build the foundation that allows them to create freely.
